Metroblogging

I always knew I was destined for greater things.

Coming Soon: Yours truly will be writing on Metroblogging.com, a “hyper-local look at what’s going on in the city”. We’re still waiting to have enough writers for the Houston site (as you can see from the main site, other cities are already up), but this looks very promising.

We’ll see how it goes. In the meantime, any suggestions on what Houston-related topics I could possibly write about?

Cool! Is it a paid position? Do you get press-passes to all the events, etc?

    Congratulations!

PS Uhm. Did I always have to enter an email with comments?

I can assure you that it is not paid, since yours truly is also a writing fro Metroblogging.com. They are just accepting anyone now-a-days, aren’t they?

PS) I asked that on my last post. I think since two of us noticed it, it must be some sort of Ayatollah conspiracy.

Due to an increasingly alarming amount of comment spam, I had to add that. I’m getting comments for Viagra pills on my posts. That just won’t do!

*ahem* excuse me. I think the music they’re playing in this shitty net cafe is affecting me… it’s some sort of Russia-nouveau-jazz-ska-pop-shoowap nonsense. Very strange.

Well, seeing as i’m not allowed to comment on the latest story I guess i’ll just post my rants here! You cannot stop me!@# :-p

Bernardo was in a movie? What’s it called? I have a friend out in CA who is studying to be an actor and he’s finding it quite hard to get decent jobs, AFAIK. As for me, i’m happy being a computer scientist. It’ll be just like in Swordfish, Hackers, etc.!!

When I was a kid I always wanted to be an astronaut (bring on the Uranus jokes!)… heh. And I have half-entertained the notion of joining the army but I bet that’s just due to the glam. spin that hollywood puts on war :-s

It’s never too late to change career paths though… in the words of that townie from The Waterboy: “You can doo eet!”

Same for me. Bernardo is in a movie called Aftermath. It’ll be in post-production for 6-12 months and I believe sometime in November they’ll send him to Argentina for interviews.

Gareth is right : it’s never too late. At the same time, however, don’t waste your time wondering “what if”. Do it or don’t.

Unrelated comment to previous, but related to this thread: GUESS WHO POSTED THE FIRST COMMENT ON THE HOUSTON METBLOG. Bwahaha. I had nothing to talk about, but I just had to be #1.
