(Un)fortunate Circumstances

Saturday was Brian’s birthday (Happy Birthday!). I would post some photos of the event, BUT

I lost my camera at Red Star.

It seems like using the camera case that was included with my camera was not really such a great idea. It has a velcro belt clip on the back, which proved to be less sturdy then I thought. Ordinarily, I probably would have been able to tell that it dropped, but it was so packed that I didn’t realize it until it turned 2am and the place had been cleared out.

So in other words, don’t expect any new photos any time soon. I’m really upset about this, and I’ve already been reminded about it on multiple occasions (whether it be because I run into the battery charger or the USB cable, or because Jacques and Brian find it amusing). In the meantime, I will have to research my options to see what camera to purchase next. I don’t think there is one that fits my needs better then the one I had.

The day after (Sunday), with the reality of the lost camera slowly sinking in, I made an impulse buying decision. I’ve been considering purchasing an iPod for a while now, and so on Sunday I headed to the Apple Store in the Galleria to buy one (20 gig). The deciding factor? Brian got one for his birthday, and it hadn’t hit me this entire time that I could use it in my car. No more shuffling for CDs or burning new ones everytime a new song comes out. It’s easy to use, looks sexy, and works flawlessly. I couldn’t be happier.

In the end, the weekend started bad and ended up okay. I just wish I hadn’t lost that camera…
