The iPhone…

Is sooooo cool. After many hours of camping at First Colony Mall, I finally got it. I was lucky number seven in line…

More to come later - hopefully.

Ooooh! So, now that you’ve had time to get better acquainted with the phone, what do you think of it? I’m split between waiting for them to arrive over here or just getting a Nokia N95…

WAIT! They should be coming over there sometime this year. Rumors (and there are plenty of them) suggest that there will be an announcement next Monday about the UK release. Also, there are some hackers at work trying to unlock it, but I doubt that this will be a long term solution since Apple will reverse their efforts with a firmware update. Ohh, and the firmware updates will have new features, such as an actual Chat application as well as other little enhancements..

I love the phone. Everything you see in the commercials works flawlessly, and it’s well made. The WiFi option is great since I’m usually in hotspots. I never used to watch YouTube and now I watch videos before I go to sleep at night. Texting with the keyboard is fun and easy…

Of course, the price tag is a bit steep but when you consider an 8 gig nano is $250, then that means you’re paying $350 for the phone/wireless internet features. That’s in the usual price range I pay for a phone, so I think it’s well worth the price.

The N95 is packed with lots of options, but the lack of a keyboard kills it for me. Since my previous phone almost had a full keyboard, and the iPhone actually has a full virtual keyboard, I can’t imagine going back to T9 input. It’s a huge difference when you’re texting.

Are you still using the SE K700 (I think that’d what you had?)

Hmm… from what I’ve read lately it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be coming out here any time soon…! Was there an announcement last Monday that I missed? The price isn’t really an issue. It sounds like you get what you pay for. Nah, my latest phone is the W900i. I’ve had it for about 14 months so it’s pretty boring now. Hmm decisions, decisions. I’ll guess I’ll wait a bit longer and see if Apple announces anything about the European iPhone release.

In the Apple conference call yesterday, they mentioned that the iPhone would be in Europe in the fourth quarter of this year. So only a few months wait?

    And Huy: call me sometime!
